26.9.2009. It was time to return to Finland. We had very good breakfast at Denny's near Narita airport. I had my favorite things (in picture) with American coffee, green tea and Pink lemonade.

25.9.2009 On my last day in Urayasu, I took a walk around our area. There is many beautiful places and fountains near our home. It was a perfect and sunny day. I could see Fuji-san from our balcony.

20.9.2009. We had nice trip to Atami. Lotta enjoyed beach very much. We all enjoyed very good dinner and breakfast in New Fujiya hotel. On our way home, we visited Samukawa-temple. There I had very good potato with butter and salt...

17.9.2009 Ueno zoo. I could see the last giant panda last year about 1 month before it died... I missed the elephants yesterday, because they went to sleep early, I think... I hope Lotta-chan would enjoy seeing many animals from video I took. I had good dinner at Irish pub at Ueno station: fish and chips with grapefruit juice.

16.9.2009 Yokohama. This sign in China Town looks little like Santa Claus? I had good day walking in China town, Yamashita park and Minato Mirai. I could find osampo bus and my feet could take nice rest with 100 yen. I would try to put more pictures and maybe video later...

14.9.2009 Tokyo Tower. I do not have many days left here anymore. Of course, I would like to see as much Tokyo as possible. I could see many places from Tokyo Tower. I took many panorama pictures and this is one of them.

10.9.2009 I could take a nice trip to Kamakura area. I got "Kamakura Enoshima free kippu" from Maihama station. Tokaido line is fast and I did not need much time before I arrived to Fujisawa. Frome there I took Enoden line. It is very good way to travel in that area. With free kippu I got from Maihama, I did not need to worry about getting tickets. Beach in Enoshima was empty, only some surfers. It is autumn already. Buddha in Hase was as big as ever. In Kamakura I had dinner in Saizeriya and got some omiyage for Lotta. Lotta likes fruits and vegetables she can cut in her toy kitchen.

Friday 29.8.2009 was sunny day. Perfect day to take a walk by Sumida river in Tsukiji. I went there by subway: Tozai line first, then changed to Hibya line in Kayabacho. I walked many hours, but there was many places to take a rest. My camera felt heavy on my bag. I could get some pictures to look at after tiresome trip.

Yesterday 29.8.2009 I saw Asakusa Samba Carnival for the first time. It was even more crowded than I thought... Fortunately, I could find a less crowded side street where dancers walked. Finally, I could get some pictures...

I had busy day 26th of August. First I visited Tokyo National Museum in Ueno. I saw two wonderful exhibitions: Ise Jingu and Treasures of Shinto and SOMETSUKE - The flourishing of underglaze blue porcelain ware in Asia. Then I went to Otsuka to see matsuri. My feet were tired so I did not see it for a long time...

12.8.2009 we visited Odaiba. Weather was nice. This seems to be good place to take pictures of airplanes taking off from Haneda airport. Lotta enjoyed playing with fountain.

I have visited LaQua and Bunkyo Civic Center many, many times. I felt "natsukasii" seeing Moomin Cafe and view from 25th floor of Civic Center 17.8.2009.

About a week a go, I came home from short trip to Kyoto. Kyoto was beautiful and interesting, as usual. This time, it was also very hot. It feels much hotter there than in Urayasu. Kinkaku-ji was of course one place I had to see again. Some new places I visited were: Toei Uzumasa Eiga mura, Byōdō-in and Togetsukyō-bridge in Arashiyama. I had very good matcha-tea at Kanraku Hanago, Japanese Sweets House. Beautiful places and friendly people of Kyoto made trip unforgetable.

12.7.2009. Narita Gion matsuri. It was as great even as last time in 2006. I spend all day there. Matsuri continued until late at night, but my feet were tired enough around 19:00. I enjoyed it very much.

4.7.2009 I visited Tanabata [Wikipedia], star festival in Hiratsuka. I took Tōkaidō line [Wikipedia] from Tokyo station, just like when I visited Atami or Kamakura.

This festivall was maybe the most colourful one I have seen. I spend many hours walking there.

I have been here soon 3 weeks. Days seem to pass by fast. Next weekend: Atami.

Huomenna on Loppiainen ja joulu ohi. Kaksi edellistä joulua vietin Japanissa. Tänä jouluna vaimoni ja tyttäreni avasivat lahjapakettejani ja söivät Ginza Cozy Cornerin täytetekakkua kaukana täältä. Minä otin kuvia joulun ajasta Suomessa heidän ihmeteltäväkseen.

Hollolan keskiaikatapahtuma muistuttaa mienua jotenkin matsureista Japanissa. Tapahtumilta löytyy kaksi yhtäläisyyttä: ruokaa naposteltavaksi ja osa osanottajista on pukeutunut perinteisiin asuihin. Tämä oli toinen kerta kun vierailin tässä tapahtumassa. Edellinen kerta oli muistaakseni 2005. Louhisaaren juoma maistui hyvältä helteisenä päivänä. Lotta saa tuomiset myöhemmin.

Wanhan Woiman veteraanikonepäivät Oulaisissa ovat mielenkiintoisimpia tapahtumia Suomessa. Sen monipuolisuus tekee siitä nautittavan. Tänä vuonna ehdin siellä käväisemään. Kuvia reissulta tuli, mutta ne eivät kerro tapahtuman tunnelmasta eivätkä varsinkaan äänimaailmasta.

Viime viikonloppuna kävin katsomassa Suur-Saimaan ympäriajoja Puumalassa. Viime vuonna kävin samassa paikassa. Paljon hienoja vanhoja autoja oli tänäkin vuonna. Monet autot toivat muistoja mieleen. Isälläni oli 70-luvulla Triumph Herald, mutta se ei ollut avoauto.

I left Japan 4.2. Spring was there just at it's best. Sakura was very beautiful in Urayasu.

Spring is coming in Finland too, but slowly. I made this time-lapse video some weeks ago. This is my first try with time-lapse.

Sping is here. Ume blossom season has started. I have visited several parks to see ume, but maybe next week ume would be more beautiful. This picture is from one shrine that is famous for ume: Yushima tenjin. Today is again very windy, around 10 m/s. Some train lines are late because of the wind. Last saturday I took train from Tokyo to Maihama. Train needed about 2 hours more than normally... When I finally could come home, weather report said wind was sometimes over 30 m/s...
